BigShoes

BigShoes is just that, it is about the big shoes we try to fill in our everyday lives. As women we have the pleasure of wearing different shoes for any occasion. Our shoes are full of color, our shoes are full of personality and sometimes our shoes are all about stress and pain! BigShoes, a metaphor for our condition…

I’m not having a midlife crisis or anything, and neither should you. This blog isn’t about a hormonal breakdown or man bashing…unless they aren’t reading. It is about you. It is about any area of your life that you want to chat about. Work, home, significant others, kids, the married life (is your grass greener?) or the single life (I need to live vicariously through some single people so please visit).

We can embrace our varied walks together and discuss books, movies, maybe where to shop in our after-work shoes, and what makeup to wear in our dress shoes, and where we are running away to in our walking shoes (trust me I know why you’re running away so I promise not to ask). And when no one is looking we can talk about the cruel shoes we wear. I love that Steve Martin story, don’t you? Read it if you get a chance, I think we need to introduce it to the generation that missed it.

I’m convinced cruel shoes only come in women’s sizes. We try to fit into every shoe. We have the ability to squish ourselves into the most uncomfortable situations. Having babies? Hello! Trying to ask for more money at work, doesn’t it work for men? Or trying to live our lives like our mothers did, while commuting to work or freelancing from home.

So get a cup of coffee, tea, or whatever your poison, and ponder… why BigShoes?
