Daylight Stressing Time

Published by violetteb at 11:34 am under Does the Shoe Fit? Edit This

dstime.jpgI would have complained about this yesterday but I was too tired and when I did have enough energy it was spent resetting clocks that didn’t change back on their own. Daylight Savings Time, DST, or as I like to call it Daylight Stressing Time, so did you change your clocks to read one hour ahead? Do you have one hidden somewhere that still reads the time before Sunday when this torture began?

Although I’m doubly happy when we fall back; I’m not so happy when we spring ahead. And furthermore, might I add that we fall back later than we used to so I’m even less thrilled this year since it took less time to spring ahead. My body noticed. They owe me a few more hours next year when we fall back again. How bout we fall back a whole day?

I know they don’t do this everywhere in the world. So why do it at all? It serves no purpose. It isn’t the same really as having a leap day. Why torture us this way? I mean it doesn’t even make up for the people that live in Alaska and wherever, that suffer through six months of dark and six months of light.

A friend once told me that it didn’t change when the cows had to be milked. I’m sure over time farmers have come up with a solution to the DST woes. However for me, I’ve noticed that it didn’t change when my kids had to get up, eat and go to bed again.
