The Flying Priest

Published by violetteb at 10:55 pm under Does the Shoe Fit? Edit This

If you haven’t heard the story of the flying priest, you really have to check it out. And no, it is not a joke.

While trying to raise money for a good cause, Father Carli floated off Sunday dangling from 1,000 helium balloons. More than just a cause, Father Carli was looking to break a 19 hour record for most hours flying with balloons. His personal best seems to be four hours which he did covering 70 miles in January.

Unfortunately, Father Carli is missing although he was carrying a GPS device that he claimed during a mid-air interview that he was having trouble with. The balloons were found at sea and Father Carli is missing off the Brazilian coast.

Can we have comments from the guy that set the 19 hour record please? I’d so like to learn more. I would think more training would be needed to make the leap from four to nineteen hours. I’d also like the name of the GPS device so I can note next time I decide to take helium balloon travel up I don’t make an erroneous selection on GPS equipment.

Seriously though, I do hope they find the Father, he is a priest so I know Somebody knows where he is.
