She said chocolate…
Oh, it is a good day. I was visiting Nanny Goats in Panties yesterday… I know that’s hard to say out loud so I consider it a two for one that I can crack up twice in one day from reading one post. She was discussing her petrified mac n’ cheese, the result of inappropriate microwaving, which of course leads me to believe she is a packaged mac n’ cheese girl and maybe not the connoisseur of edible, two-, three- or four-cheese baked yummy goodness. As a native of chilly upstate-NY we’ve probably cornered the market on comfort food out east. Meanwhile she gives a shout out to her friend Tootsie Farklepants at Vintage Thirty…well any friend of Nanny Goat’s is a friend of mine.
So I go to visit Tootsie and she is giving away a gift certificate to See’s Candies…real See’s chocolate. Oh, remember how I wanted some for Mother’s Day…yes he shipped a box of See’s truffles to me and I am down to but a few small morsels. So I had to enter my name of course and am so crossing my fingers and toes…and eyes. I mean, come on, I must have the record for the most See’s Candies links in a post. Today.com must think I work for them or something…Not.
Don’t just visit Tootsie for the See’s Candies certificate contest…visit her for her wit, sarcasm and way with pet peeves.
I have always loved See’s Candies. We used to have one of their stores just up the block from us when I was a teenager. Those chocolates are addicting.
@ regina - I’m probably going to finish off the box I have tonight and hope I win that certificate tomorrow LOL
@ Margaret - oooh extra cheese. Hey my mom never followed rules, she was one of those cooks that knew what needed what when and it was always delicious, I had an aunt who couldn’t boil water and she tried to cook us macaroni once. UGH…then there was the aunt who could cook so goooood….I think I need dinner now. LOL
Did someone say COMFORT FOOD??? Oh honey, I know exactly what you are talking about. As a woman of a comfort food “stature” my husband laughs at me constantly when I’m around the good stuff.
It reminds me about the other day I was at Sally’s with a friend. They have a little section of cookbooks and there was one actually CALLED comfort foods. I looked through it and was salivating! However, as I am currently trying to reduce that certain “stature” that I have, I refrained from buying it. But YOU could go get it and tell me all about it! Then I can live my comfort through you, and not gain an inch! How’s that sound?
Oh yeah COMFORT FOOD!!! Hey Crazy_jujubee, got that man trained yet? LOL.
I’ll have to look around and hope I didn’t purchase a copy of that comfort food book, if I did I’ll have to send you a recipe….
Oh Violette sweetie, don’t you know the only time you can change a man is when he is in diapers and the only time to train is for the potty?

I’ve never heard of See’s Candles, but it sounds cool.
Speaking of comfort food…….I’m waiting for my friend to bring me some ice cream, maybe it’ll reduce my pain ;)

I miss living in California and having the store right near my house! So g;ad you can mail order it now.
