One of my favorite actors in Jaws was Robert Shaw playing Quint. It is hard to believe that 30 years have passed this August since he died in Ireland at the age of 51 from a heart attack.
Robert Shaw was an actor, writer, father to ten and married three times. He was in many movies but most Americans remember him for Jaws. A movie that he didn’t like the script for and he didn’t know anything about the director. I’m glad he did it anyway.
Here is one of two tributes by RedWolf100 at YouTube who runs the site Robert Shaw For All Seasons. I recommend visiting RedWolf100’s site to learn more about a truly wonderful man and actor.
Okay here is a song parody done to the music of the Jaws theme. It is Goldentusk from YouTube. Why does he look like Weird Al? Hey did I mention that it is a holiday weekend and they are playing Jaws on cable. I only saw a few minutes of it and Jaws 2. Ellen Brody is still alive…the shark didn’t get her yet.
The million dollar question….da da da dah dant….da da da dah dant….So who will live longer Ellen Brody or the shark from Jaws?
Happy Labor Day weekend to you…enjoy the beach. Maybe there’ll be more fish for thought tomorrow.
Who is funny? Most times funny is in the eyes and ears of the beholder and sometimes you don’t know funny even if you hear it.
Here are some funny blogs. They know funny even if you don’t.
Our lady of laughter Venus at FAPIPO is suffering through writer’s block and has been carrying on having her readers vote for her next topic. Wow, I hope she is out of a slump soon but I know how it is to have the right title and no story and vice a versa. Maybe she should just swap some photos, articles and titles around and make us all think something is wrong with us that we don’t get it.
Nanny Goats In Panties discusses her latest self torture where she has submitted her blog to Ask And Ye Shall Receive for a blog review. You go Nanny!
And to finish off your evening visit papercages, a very astute observer and she dresses her blog nicely in color and cartoon. I think she has been reading my comments.
I’ve been really inspired by the ladies discussing cooking with a microwave so I have to again discuss my microwave. So someone else visited who uses it only for popcorn claiming that everything tastes fake out of a microwave. I’m guessing though the popcorn comes out of one of those flattened out tightly sealed bags with compressed lard like oil. Don’t cry…I serve it to my children when I’m lazy.
I’m a popcorn connoisseur and I have to immediately tell you all to revolt and get yourself a microwave popcorn maker and pickup some real gourmet popcorn. And please, use butter…and salt. Just a bit, not a lot.
And microwaves can make real food. I love help in the kitchen and since my husband stopped helping…I have to rely on kitchen gadgetry. The microwave is at the top of the list.
Oh, someone who uses the microwave to thaw margarita mixes visits BigShoes…now really, my microwave sees all kinds of cooking action, more than my stove, which is why my family missed it so much. Kind of like my Oster Kitchen Center, my gosh the most action that thing ever saw was grinding many pounds of coffee beans over the years. Then I was quite thankful for the single serve coffee machine.
Word to the wise when buying appliances, stainless steel is a finger print magnet.
I want my house to be more arts and crafty (I mean in the Frank Lloyd Wright sense) so I think I have to switch to copper soon if we ever remodel the kitchen that is stuck in 1976. The roof has to be upgraded first so I’m hoping all the appliances hold out until I’m ready to really get cooking…I mean something like that…somtimes I cook.
What is your favorite activity in the kitchen? Coffee, tea or frozen food?
