Round 1 – Obama Perhaps
I think the fiasco of the 2000 elections was truly the beginning of a new era in political shenanigans and well all I can say is it will only get better from here. If you were like me, you were hoping that Obama wasn’t going to show up to debate with himself. Moderator Jim Lehrer was probably relieved to see two occupied podiums when the lights went down as well. And if you were like me you were glad you didn’t miss the long awaited first debate after a week of political posturing akin to a p*ssing match like none other in the history of politics (unless you count Hillary’s match with Obama).
Now we can talk the issues but, if you watched the debate like any dutiful citizen then I think I don’t need to reiterate that Obama had the upper hand with the exception that he hadn’t fought in World War I. The pundits clearly think Obama pulled away in the lead and admittedly I do too. All you have to do is sit and wonder at the 90 minutes of McCain staring with a steel like gaze straight ahead trying to control himself from I don’t know what.
If I was assigning bonus points for this round I’d take one away from Obama for the “I have a bracelet too…” not exactly the “I have a dream” speech. Did anyone else hear Dueling Banjos from that point on? In turn I’m giving McCain that bonus point for his quick thinking recovery complete with Christmas references after avoiding Obama’s point to that ridiculous health care plan that gives us $5,000, the number isn’t that big to hide all the tax implications that McCain has spelled out with that plan.
Of course this is all old news after ticking off the parent who gifted the bracelet to Obama and for putting words in Kissinger’s mouth. Tsk, tsk, Obama. Are you ready for Thursday?

You know this has been the longest race I remember for a very long time. I can’t wait to see this week’s.
This is a funny post and I enjoyed reading it. I like all the different opinions roaming around the Blogosphere about the Debated going on.
Can you believe this race is almost over? I’m picturing another close call and controversy on this one.
It’s showing on UK TV today but I’m not going to be able to watch it then. I hope they show repeats.
