Big Shoes, Really Big Shoes

I have to close May out with some shoe related topic since it is the weekend who would believe what was posted a few days ago on YouTube related to shoes…try big shoes, literally big shoes…REALLY BIG SHOES! Big shoes, as in made the Guinness Book of World Records BIG SHOES.

Okay, so you’re thinking, sure some people have really big feet; maybe they need really big shoes. Well the tallest man in medical history had feet 18 ½ inches long and I believe that he could actually sleep in what you are about to see.

Some of the comments on YouTube are commenting “big deal”, however it is a big deal. These shoemakers have made real big shoes that a sizeable person (scaled to fit in them) could wear comfortably. Hey, everybody deserves well made shoes. This is a skill not to be laughed at people.

Of course I wonder what will happen in a thousand years or so when someone unearths these bad boys…

BigShoes Movie Kinky Boots

I have to talk movies. Is it so rare to find something fun and musical and inspirational? I saved Kinky Boots to the DVR a while back so I could watch and review it for BigShoes, seeing as every now and again it is good to have a topic on footwear on BigShoes for all the lost wandering shoe soles out there (don’t hold the pun against me). I don’t know that if BigShoes had to describe itself as a movie that it would be Kinky Boots… (all together now ….JAWS!) However, that being said Kinky Boots was incredible. It was incredible music, singing and humor.

My favorite part of Kinky Boots was the music, in particular the great walkway scene at the end that was an excellent collection of boot and shoe melodies sung by Chiwetel Ejiofor who played Lola (Sam). Please note, it is “loosely” based on a true story so don’t believe everything you read, see or hear. Don’t let the title or content shock or scare you away. You could view this film with your parents or most of your children.

Here is the Kinky Boots walkway scene (and a link from YouTube in case it gets disabled).

U2 at BigShoes

Why not? U2 is in NY this week celebrating the release of their new album No Line On The Horizon (RELEASED TO DAY) and we’re celebrating BigShoes. Party! Party! They are performing at Letterman all this week and then early Friday morning on Good Morning America.

I’m bringing you a little bit of the Letterman and here are links to our BigShoes’ collection of U2. I’m surprised there aren’t more. I probably have a file filled with future posts that reference some cool U2 YouTubes. We’ve got another year to fill with content so I’m certain U2 will be on the playlist.

You have to share your favorite U2 song. Even if you don’t like them I imagine everybody has one U2 song they can tolerate. If U2 really isn’t your thing than who is? All musical tastes welcome here. That’s why they call us the BigShoes. Don’t forget, tomorrow is the big day, one year mark here at BigShoes.

Now for your listening pleasure…

Happy Birthday with Bono and U2

Plans are we’re going to celebrate BigShoes for the month of March. There’ll be highlights of all your favorite posts so look for the best of the best to be listed on BigShoes. So if you are a Jaws fan or a Victoria’s Secret or Danica Patrick fan NOT, then this is certainly the place to be.

We’ll have fun sharing with you the behind the scene antics of our Google, Yahoo and whatever other search engine there is visitors. You know the ones…you wouldn’t believe what they search for folks. Oh how I blush, as should they.

BigShoes is not the only celebration going on. We are also celebrating the launch of my two new entertainment blogs TVScape and The Inside Soap.

Pink Floyd Converse Shoes

Dmitry Maslov courtesy of Dreamstime.comReally? Okay, it’s time for some shoe news. I like to do that at random and make people visit my site aimlessly. Yes, I might be talking to you, you didn’t happen to search the terms Pink Floyd and Converse in the same search did you? I’ll bet you searched Danica Patrick and shoe size, or something like it though…if so, you probably don’t even know who Pink Floyd is and I can’t fathom why you need to know her shoe size…wait, maybe you are Danica Patrick looking for your shoe size…never mind.

Who is thinking up these things? I know it is so hard to make the leap from the Dora or Spiderman shoes to adult shoes; I need something to bridge my footwear years until I wear those flat granny-like shoes with comfort support. And if I’m not a Pink Floyd fan (I am, really), then I can wait for their line of AC/DC and Metallica shoes…hmmm, very tempting, AC/DC! By the way, what is the average age of the members of these three bands rolled up together? Exactly folks, novelty sneakers at our age, really? Angus Young could get away with the Converse sneakers. At our age the word novelty should precede the word tie or something you don’t leave the house in, like slippers.

I’ll tell you who thinks up these things, the same people that thought of this Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Pink Floyd…yes the baby just looked at you and thought “Really?” I know adults who have a hard time listening to Pink Floyd…I’m not going to tell you what the baby will think when you present them with this Pink Floyd Hammers Onesie.

I know. You’ll both be rocking now. Don’t forget to pick yourself up a Pink Floyd lighter to match your Dark Side of the Moon Converse sneakers this Spring!

If you really must pick up the Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Pink Floyd…then rethink the Pink Floyd Hammers Onesie and pick up this Pig Power Infant Creeper…I didn’t make that up, that is what they call it? Must be a regional thing.

Well, you can all return to your regularly scheduled web searching.
